| Yahoo! Answers: is there an alternative medication for my dog? My 13 year old dog has a liver problem and is on tablets called 'Denamarin' which she has to take on of daily. She is also on a very specific diet. She has been on the tablets for two months now and yesterday she had a blood test for her enzymes and apparently her liver has got worse. They then suggested putting her on a saline drip for a whole day and then having a blood test after that then teaching me how to do it myself. i don't know if i can bring myself to put a needle into her she has been put through enough stress. im really stuck on what to do obviously the price for the drip is very high. i need advice on what to do and also how bad he condition is if you would like any more information please ask for email address would really appreciate any help. i need to know if the drip is worth is and how much it will improve her health and liver. she is not suffering or in pain the vet said. also she keeps gagging quite alot any ideas on what that could be they have checked her teeth and throat and there's nothing there she doesn't cough anything up just gags. thanks for reading this my mum is really worrying about the dog and any help will be greatly received. |
