Why is my tongue numb after gallbladder surgery?

Thank author of this post/commentI had my gallbladder removed yesterday and ever since I woke up the right side of my tongue has been numb. I asked the nurse and doctors but they didn't know why it would still be numb. Does anyone know why this happens and if it will go away?
