| Questions: Why does my sister act so mean? Why does my sister act so mean towards me? She's 16, Now a Senior, Has a 4.0 grade point average, and I've even heard my Mom say she's prouder of her [in school terms] than me. My Dad, on the other hand, only congratulates my sister when she gets good grades. [He never wants to look at my report card, usually just knocks it off the 'fridge or ignores it when it's on his desk.] I, on the other hand am 13, and I usually make As and Bs. This year my grades haven't been so well because of stress - but let me get to the point. I have MD/Muscular Dystrophy - a muscle weakening disease and have to do various medical procedures daily, and my sister complains ALL of the time. I even need her help to get me out of bed, when my Mom is gone. She'll actually keep me on the bed on purpose, go eat, then help me up. She even makes fun of me, half the time I don't think she notices, but other times I do. I'm wheelchair bound - what can I do? I've had surgeries, etc. So sometimes my Mom buys me small gifts every once in a while [couple of months] etc. like something $5-10. While my sister goes on a cruise every year with her high school band. Not the point, but I'm tired of my sister being so mean, she's beginning to act like a brat - actually, she has been for the last few years. I NEVER want to be like her. ...Help. What do I do? And why is she acting mean? She HAS a chance at life...She can go out with her friends. Not to complain. But ...Still. |
