Is having a minor necessary to increase my chances of gettings into med school?

I am a junior on my way to getting a Biology BA at SUNY Binghamton. I have a 3.8 GPA and i'll be taking the MCATS in a few months. Someone recently told me that im stupid for not having picked up a chem minor, and not having one will hurt my chances of getting into a good medical school. is this true? do i need a minor or is just the bio BA enough?
