How do I get an unbiased second medical opinion? - Medical Specialists
| How do I get an unbiased second medical opinion? My friend went into hospital for heart surgery (bi pass) and needed ventilating after...his chest wasn't clearing so he had a tracheotomy (for a few days only). Since then he has not been able to eat or drink...fed through a tube and is about to have a semi permanent tube titted into his stomach (so he can be discharged home) and feed himself with liquids from the pharmacy. He has been told the hospital 'don't know' what is wrong with him. He has been given tests for a neurological problem and seen an ear. nose and throat specialist (apparently) but still doesn't know what is wrong or how it happened. I suspect something happened during or after surgery but clearly the hospital have no incentive to tell us if that was the case....where do we get help? (P.S. sorry for the bad spelling) |
